Who Needs Toys?
Last night we went car seat shopping. After picking out new (non-pink) car seats for the girls Jeff put them together in the house. Once they were together, the girls got to sit in them. What a blast the girls had. I posted a few of pictures of Miya sitting in her car seat because Jayden is hamming it up in the background. The best part of (having to) buy new car seats....the box! This box has entertained the girls all day.
Playing in the Snow???
The other day I decided it would be fun to play outside in the beautiful sunshine we were blessed to have (another reason may be because we needed a break from our daily routine since I have been grounded to the house for awhile). I think I should have planned our adventure a little differently. It took about 15 minutes to get the girls and myself dressed for the single digit air that would meet us as soon as we opened the door. Jayden, of course, did not like the idea of losing the ability to use her fingers. She cried the whole time I got Miya ready...who was so excited she couldn't focus on putting her snow clothes on and was in a totally different world! Once outside we found the sled and Jayden enjoyed sledding down the snow piles...she did not enjoy me putting her down so I could help Miya slide down the snow pile. Once Miya got to the bottom of the hill and stepped off to walk around to the front she started crying. "I don't like the snow" is what I heard through screaming every step she took. The reason she was crying was because she would sink in the snow about foot with each step she took. So I left Jayden crying while I went to rescue Miya. Once I had both girls in my arms all was quite. We had only been outside for 5 min...at the most. I wasn't ready to take them in yet so we ventured out to get the mail!! What an exciting activity:) I think in the future we will wait until Dad is around to help us play outside. Back to the house for a 10min strip down of snow crusted (and nose crusted) clothes!
Jayden Continues to Grow
Last week Thursday Jeff was able to get Jayden to take five steps towards him. Once we got the camera out she wanted nothing to do with it. Here is a video of her taking a couple of steps. Yes, her hair is staying like that unassisted! I truly believe if I was encouraging her to walk during the day the way Jeff does at night she would already be walking. I guess I'm just not ready for our baby to become a toddler yet:( Where has the last nine months gone?
On that note, Jayden had her nine month appointment this week, finally (many of you know the story behind our crazy week last week and the delays in Jayden's Dr. appointments). I forgot how easy (and emotional) the nine month appointment can be. There are no shots. YEAH! However, it really hit me while waiting for the Dr. to come in that Jade's next appointment will be her one year checkup. ONE YEAR. I still remember every part of her delivery like it was yesterday...can it be almost a year already? Jayden is a very healthy nine month old. She weighs 20.4pounds (75th) and is 29 and a half inches tall (95th). We are so thankful the Lord has blessed our family with a beautiful, healthy Jayden. We don't know what we would do without her! She brings so much humor to our daily routine!
