Jayden is too brave

Dads turn again! Got to be dad while mom was gone to ladies book club with the leading ladies from TEAM. I got out the camera and did various pictures and videos of the girls. One that never turned out was a Jayden figuring out that she can beat her head up against a wall. That was interesting. The best was when Miya went upstairs, and little sister decided again she was not going to be left out. The child will very rarely be found playing by herself anywhere. Anyway, shes done this several times before, but I figured I would video it so everyone else could see that this one is much like her father...putting herself in situations that she doesnt care how bad it might hurt later, just cuz it looks like the thing to do at the time. She loves to get to the top of things and turn around and head back down headfirst, whether it be a chair, couch, or 15 steps. It doesnt matter. If she wasnt distracted, I think she could make it the whole way, but distractions are all over this house with 2 kids under 3. Anyway, it is soooooo fun being dad. Couldnt ask for a more exciting responsibility! Love you all Jeff

Cookies

Need I say anything? Miya thought Jayden would like to have a cookie...for breakfast. Instead of fighting it I said sure, why not. So here is the after picture of a very, very, tasty oreo. How bought kissing the computer screen now Gramma Hoksbergen?

A Challenge to My Girlfriends

So I'm not embarrassed to post this button (...at least not after thinking about it for two weeks, you'll notice the challenge is already in it's second week). After seeing Fireproof and being involved in the LoveDare I thought this could probably use a little work too :) To my family (excluding Glenda, Tonia, and the Wassink girls), you don't have to click the button, just ignore this post. To all my girlfriends reading this post, go check it out. I'm starting tomorrow!! Time to clean the boxes out of the corners!

More Singing

I posted these wrong. Read the post below to figure out what this is about. Sorry!

This one has more singing. :)

Band-Aid Song

Jeff's dad is in the hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. He had surgery on Tuesday for his second skin graft. Once he has the surgery he has to stay in the hospital for a week. They won't even open the bandages to look at the graft until a whole week later. That is a lot of sitting around getting bored. So we are praying for patience for him. We thought we would send a fun card this time. I found a singing card at the store and Miya started singing the song before we even left the card isle. She kept singing it over and over again (se recieved many smiles this week at the grocery store). You'll soon hear that it's a very catchy toon and will be in your head for a long time come (there, I gave you all fair warning). She continued to sing the song even after I took the card away. I wanted to tape her singing the song so Dad could hear her singing, but of course, she suddenly became very shy. So here is what I was able to capture. I actually posted two videos, same idea but a little different.

We pray that you are feeling better Dad (Grandpa). Hope this helps to put a smile on your face. We love you!!

Ice Cream

These videos are from before Christmas, but Jayden would act the same way today. I think homemade ice cream is her favorite food!! In the first video you can hear Jayden grunting between bites. She makes this noise with all food. When she wants more of something she grunts and groans. It's quite cute unless there's a temper associated with it which often is the case. Homemade ice cream has become a Sunday night tradition over here. Surprisingly she has not experienced a brain-freeze...yet!

Jayden's 9 Month Pictures

We had the pictures taken while in Iowa over Christmas. I had the appointment scheduled for the Monday morning before we left for home. It just so happened that Jayden came down with a cold on Sunday and was not a happy camper Monday morning. Not only did she not feel good, but she also cried the entire time, unless I was holding her (not a good photo). Everyone has had pictures taken when the were sick at some point and time in their life, right??

If you would like to see Jayden's nine month pictures you can go to www.photoreflect.com
click on show all photos
Look for Nicole Westra (we are on the second or third page...keep clicking next)
The password is jayden

I will be getting pictures out to family soon.

More Christmas Pictures....to be continued.....

Miya on the way to Iowa, tucked in the car seat with all of her babies.
Miya on the way home from Iowa, tucked in with all of her babies, sleeping; but still holding the bag of candy from Great Gramma and Grampa Hokesbergen!!

"Am I supposed to be playing with toys? I think I'll just play with this water bottle!"

"My Uncle Tyler is sooooo cool! He eats pizza with me at my new, cool table"

"Do we really need to take a picture mom?"

Miya and Jayden waiting for supper!

A picture of some of the chaos that goes with 10 kids opening gifts at the same time (we were missing Tim and Kate and their kids:( ... it should have been 13 kids).
