Again...

Jayden has had a fever since Saturday. Saturday she acted like her normal self, just slept a little more than usual. Sunday morning she was very clingy. Her temp was up to 102 and change but when the Tylenol was active she acted like herself. Today was a different story. Last night she whimpered through the entire night (something she has NEVER done, even as an infant). This morning she slept in bed with me and after she ate breakfast all she wanted to do was sit on my lap with her blankie. When her fever is at it's peak (just before the next dose of Tylenol she even gets the shakes. I started getting a little nervous since she has no other symptoms of a cold or the flu and called the Dr. They asked if she's had any ear drainage....well of course she does, this is Jayden; she had blood in her ears last week Monday and Tuesday. So to the Dr. we went. Dr. Green is not sure if this will turn into a cold or if it's her ears. She does have something going on with her left ear. We'll get the lab culture results back on Thursday. He said she may have a hole in her eardrum. So I guess this is just one tough cookie because she hasn't complained at all about ear pain, or anything else for that matter. She's just super cuddly which I am thoroughly enjoying. We will be saying our prayers that everything turns out okay; and that we can maybe get to the bottom of this ear thing, FINALLY!

Pictures of Jayden. If you look back through this blog I think you'll find this is the only picture of Jayden laying down with her eyes open. She does not sit let alone lay down....

A Night with Dad

Jeff picked up BC pizza (our favorite) on the way home tonight and we enjoyed an evening with just the four of us. After the pizza was gone it was time to play with dad...which means playing ROUGH!! Their favorite lately is wrestling. Jayden has been very whinny today (teeth or ears??), normally she doesn't cry when she gets an ouchy. Normally she goes right back for more. Grandpa and Grandma Hoksbergen you may not want to watch the first 45 seconds :)

The next video is another way dad plays with the girls. You'll notice the pattern...always ROUGH and the girls LOVE it, especially Jayden. This is Dad's version of Ring-Around-the-Rosies!

Potty Training??

Lately whenever Jayden is walking around in just a diaper, she attempts to take it off....well, at least sag it so her crack shows. Today she made a stinky and then slid the diaper off. Amazingly (and thankfully) with no mess. Does this mean she's ready for attempt #1 at potty training? She can't even talk yet??

...Pictures Continued

Here are some more pictures from vacation...
Yes, we were a little redneck (ok, A LOT redneck)...Jeff pulled the girls in their tubes behind the fishing boat! They thought it was great! Jades almost fell asleep.

Jayden LOVES sweet corn. We bought 30 ears of corn (on Thursday) and went home with only a small hand full on Saturday. Jeff put it on the grill with the husks still on, it was delicious! Jayden can eat it with no hands!
Jeanine and Miya did a lot of coloring. Jeanine even taught Miya how to color on lipstick and toenail polish to what she's coloring...Jeff was not a fan when Miya colored lipstick on a fish :)
A night of smores!
Jeff mowed the lawn before we left...what a sexy guy! It appears we are more redneck than I ever thought :(
Our last morning was cold and rainy but that didn't keep Miya and dad from swimming one last time! What precious memories we were blessed to make!

Some Pictures

This swimsuit is ready for the trash...I don't know why the elastic seemed to give out so quickly :)
Another diaper shot. Jayden is a character and is always trying to take her pants and diapers off. Actually not even off, she just likes to hang them below her crack. Once they are low enough, she leaves them on. Crazy kid!
Jayden driving the stationary boat.
Miya actually driving the boat, by herself. You'll notice the very serious and concentrated look. Did I just use the word concentrated to describe Miya...wow!
The girls trying to "share" driving the boat. They actually were both content with this arrangement. Surprise, Surprise!

Vacation

Last week were blessed to be able to take a family vacation with our good friends the Looyengas. Aside from the weather we had a wonderful time. The girls LOVED spending time with their dad! Dads just do things different than mom and make the everyday stuff seem so much more fun. I will add more pictures later, but here are a couple videos from vacation.
Jayden has NO fear. She will do anything, touch everything, and put all things in her mouth. I'm sure if we would have let her actually hold the fish, it would have gone right to her mouth. At one point she gave the fish a kiss....gross. As I'm typing this, I just realized we did not wash our hands before eating smores that night....OOPS!!
After our vacation, I'm sure Caleb was very ready to have his quiet life back. The girls often tried to play with him or maybe I should say they tried to play with his toys. They had a lot of fun together, Caleb always had someone to watch...even when he didn't want to :)
