Update

Yesterday we went back to the Dr. (surprise, surprise) since she was still running a 104+ temperature and was starting to get very crabby. Tylenol would bring the fever down but 5 hours later it was back in full force. And I knew something was hurting her. We saw the CPN since it was Dr. Green's day off. She said her ears look great, which is wonderful but a little frustrating since we just bought the $50 prescription (for .5oz). Externally everything looked great which is good, but also bad because the problem is then internal. She asked me some more questions about her behavior since Saturday. After I told her Jade's urine has been really stinky she said we needed to test it. You might be wondering how you get a urine sample from a 16month old?? Through a catheter. Yup, not a fun time. She actually didn't cry any more than when I change her diapers lately. They did a preliminary test of it in the office before sending it away and found a lot of white blood cells in it....which means a bladder and kidney infection. As if our poor peanut has had enough pain over the past couple of days she had to have two shots of a super-duper antibiotic. Supposedly it's a very painful shot but also very fast working.

Because Jayden has been drinking so much she did not have to be admitted to the hospital for any IV. Way to go Jayden. We will have to go back for another round of shots today since they only last 24 hours. Tomorrow her lab results should be back. Once they diagnose what type of infection it is they'll prescribe an oral antibiotic that's fitting.

In two weeks we will be heading to DeVos for some testing to figure out why her bladder infection backed up into her kidneys. The tests could be done in Holland but Devos has a pediatric team that is great with children. So we will be going there. I think she has endured enough pain for the Month of September.

It is so hard to watch your children when you know something is bothering them but don't know how to make them feel better. We are so thankful the Dr.s are getting to the bottom of this. Last night Jayden felt so much better. She ate supper with us and was playing and even being a little mischievous again. It looks like I better enjoy the cuddling today as much as I can. The housework and cooking can wait till next week :)
