WE GOT POOP!

A dad has never been more proud than this dad, seeing a little turtle head in my baby's diaper. Never, have I been excited like this to change it. Here we are, 12 hours ago, crying like crazy worried that our daughter wasnt doing so good to me putting both hands in the air like I won the world series because Melanie had a dirty diaper.
Quite the day. Im gonna try to keep this one short, but here are a few happenings of the day: 1st of all, Nicki is spending the night at the hospital again tonite which is great! 2nd, the results of the ultrasounds for the heart and brain showed two things. The heart PDA valve isnt closing. We would typically start ibuprophin to help close this, but they are holding off because of what was found in the brain. There appears to be a spot on her brain, and I did see the name of it, however, you need a degree in spelling to know how to sound it out. They dont want to start the ibuprophin because it typically slows down clotting and they want to keep an eye on the spot on her brain to make sure it doesnt start leaking more. If it does continue to bleed a bit, they will just go in and do the heart surgery that will close the PDA. We will find that out tomorrow at around 11. THANK YOU ANN IF YOU ARE READING THIS FOR MAKING ME FEEL SO MUCH BETTER ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF A HEART SURGERY!!!! (Ann is another great nurse that has made us feel sooooo much better about everything that is going on. She actually might be reading this. If so Ann, dont be afraid to leave a comment on this one and make any adjustments to what Im describing :) If the heart surgery is required, dont be alarmed. Its a simple 15 minute bed side surgery that isnt done open heart, but rather done from her back side. Neighbor Levi had this done, and his mom said it went great. Melanie had another blood transfussion and gave her plateless to build up blood pressure and things like that. That is seeming to help a lot. Other than that, Melanie was very good early tonite. Hopefully, she has a good night, and when we go down tomorrow she has a smile on her face say a 'good morning daddy, I love you'...ok, thats pushing it. However, we were very encouraged today and tonite.

And finally, Im sorry for not putting this on earlier. I said I would do it yesterday, but this was the 1st birthday card I received from my baby girl. Hope you like it as much as I do.
I leave you tonite with a text that I just recieved from my 15 year old sister in law Alyssa. She JUST sent this text and it had a great couple of verses on it. Proverbs 3:21-26 "My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion: So shall they be life unto thy soul and grace to thy neck. Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and they foot shall not stumble. When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken."
Couldnt have said it better myself :) cya tomorrow

Great information Jeff. You need to get a shirt for Melanie that says "manure happens!" to match her Dad's! :-) We are so thankful for the good reports. We will continue to keep your family in our prayers. It is evident that God is sustaining and upholding you. We all live day by day and Melonie is reminding us of that.
